MPEG TS audio codecs

Hi,
I've been messing around with MPEG TS (streaming in particular) and was wondering what audio codecs I can use with it?

I've discovered aac, a52 and lpcm work. I've read online that TS can carry lpcm 24-bit but I've only managed to get lpcm 16-bit to work, how can I use 24-bit int or maybe 32-bit float?
Are there any other codecs it works with?

It's very difficult to find the codecs it works with and VLC's codes for them online, it doesn't seem to be well documented.
