Can VLC record audio from sound card?

Hello

I'd like to record the audio stream from an Internet radio that doesn't provide files as MP3 podcasts.

I read the wiki, but the record button remains greyed out.

I was wondering if VLC could be told to record what's coming out of the audio card while a channel is playing in the web browser, while ignoring sound coming from other applications (eg. e-mail notifications, etc.).
