VLC web plug-in problem

Postby vesk|_| » 25 Jun 2014 21:20

Hi guys.

I have a problem with that plug-in. Especially in application/x-vlc-plugin. In Mozilla web page shows only blank after allowing plugin to run. In chrome there appears a yellow text below address bar something like "Could not load VLC Web Plugin" and blank site.

The plugin worked with my computer before maybe two months ago. I don't remember what I've done with my computer so I might have uninstalled some important programs.
I've tried to install/uninstall VLC in 32 and 64 -bits, newer and older version, but nothing has changed. Also I tried to look what I uninstalled, but I didn't find anything important.

So I ask you, could you please help me somehow. I can post some logs or something new information about my situation if you tell me what and how.

My computer specs: Win 7, 64-bit.

Thank you, Vesa

Newer Chrome versions dropped support for the VLC plugin. Other than that, it is hard to help you if you do not remember what you did.

Ok I tested with older Chrome (24.x) and it didn't work. Same "Could not load.." message came.
Does it help if I write down what I've uninstalled? I mean from "action log" (I don't use win in english so I'm not sure is that written correctly) and then filter those msiInstaller actions?

My sense is telling that the problem are cause of something I did. That because it's not working in Mozilla also. Am I correct?

It's maybe late, but I had the same problem and finally (after days of research) found that two dll's are left inside windows folder sysWOW64. They are libvlc.dll and libvlccore.dll. Just delete them. Let me know if it helped.
