QUERY: automatic network computer searching w/ anonymous acc

I've been using PlayerXtreme for iPad and I love it coz the Network TAB has both Manual & Automatic computer search/listing. I am able to see and connect to my NAS DNS box with just 1 click.

I decided to use VLC Player for iPad since am a big fan of VLC Player for Windows... but was disappointed when I have to manually try and connect to my DNS NAS box... and still to-date unsuccessfully. I have public anonymous network shares on my DNS NAS which PlayerXtreme and my Windows PC can connect to without needing passwords. But I can't seem to connect via VLC Player for iPad since it's forcing me to enter a password?


PS: does VLC Player for iPad have speed/tempo controls and subtitles?

@PS: yes and yes.

For the other question, you are likely referring to a SMB share on your NAS, something VLC for iOS can't handle at this point. We are working hard on it though.
