Enabling autoplay function for VLC in Vista

Postby slowpoke » 09 May 2014 17:07

Running Vista home premium 64 bit. A few weeks back, somehow managed to get VLC to start automatically when inserting disk in optical drive. After running System Restore to cure another problem, this is no longer enabled. I can't recall or find out how to reinstate this autoplay preference for VLC. Don't know if it goes thru the VLC program or the Windows defaults, but can't seem to find anywhere how to make this happen. I've cruised the VLC help pages but still can't find it. Can anyone help? Many thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply and the suggestion. Unfortunately, reinstalling the program did not re-enable autoplay, so it is not the default option. I remember that when I first installed VLC, autoplay was not enabled. At some point after that, I stumbled upon a way to enable it, but it was not intuitive and I can't find it now.

Anyone out there have autoplay enabled on Vista?
