DCP Playout in 2.1...

Postby bkeegan » 07 May 2014 00:08

Hello, and thanks in advance. Forgive any redundancies, I've just not been able to find a solution on any other DCP threads

I'll preface by saying that I'm not that well versed in coding, basic Linux at best. If I need to learn in order to install modules/run modules/etcetera, then I'm happy to, though I could certainly use a point in the right direction to begin with :)

I've built a DCP in OpenDCP (also testing DCP-o-matic, but that's moot for now) that I've been able to "test" in trial versions of Cineplayer and NeoDCP, so I know they are at least playable.

I've tried "Open Folder/Directory," and just get audio. I've tried loaded multiple files in sync, and just get audio. When I try to run the video track alone, I receive the error: "No suitable decoder module:
VLC does not support the audio or video format "JP2K". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this."

I've seen the project PDF online (it was amazingly detailed, for the record, link is at work) and I've seen in various threads that it seems possible, whether through accessing config directories or however, so I know that I can't be too far off. If any help can be thrown at this green "encoder" or whatever, I would be highly appreciative! I can't think of any more details that might be helpful at this moment...THANKS!!
