Record stream problem

When I try to record a wmv stream from Internet vlc just creates 1kbit file and that's it. I've tried both wizard and doing the settings manualy in GUI.
I'm using WinXp and Vlc is version 0.8.1

The output display works fine but it doesn't record anything. I've tried to record with and without it. Does anyone know solution?

Which encapsulation method and "transcoding options" did you choose ?

I have tried different ones and also "dump raw input" option. I also tried without checking those transcode boxes (doesn't it record then stream as it is?)
