.wma playlists on Iphone w/ VLC & Dropbox?

Postby stu » 17 Mar 2014 03:30

Hello, I contributed b/c I've used VLC for movies on my Mac for years and recently put VLC 2.2.2 on my Iphone 5s to play some .wma files in Dropbox. (I copied my entire cd collection years ago, and I've got tons and tons of .wma files, and I really don't use itunes for music at this point.)

But w/ VLC on the phone so far I've just been able to stream one wma song, then I gotta manually select the next wma song. For example, I gotta open the Doobie Bros folder again in the Dropbox section of VLC, and manually select the next Doobie Bros song I want to listen to.

I'm wondering about moving large numbers of .wma files into Dropbox on my Mac and creating different playlists on the Mac to listen to them with VLC on my iphone... Is it possible and how would I do it?

Perhaps I'm better off just converting all the .wma files to mp3. Would that make it easier to create VLC playlists on my mac and listen on my Iphone w/ VLC?

Thank you
Stu
ps I tried for the first time today to actually download to the phone one of the .wma files from inside VLC using the downward-pointing red arrow to the far right of the song. It seemed to quickly go through the motions of downloading, but I can't find it now on the phone. No WiFi currently.
