vlan as standard setting

Does anybody know how I can set vlan as my standard mpeg-player? i want to get rid of quicktime as soon as possible!
If someone can help: answers would be great.

hint for hannomichigan: have a look at the "open with..." section of the Finder's information window for a specific file.

yeah, i've tried the "open with" thing. trotzdem bleibt das standard setting auf quicktime. wie kann ich das umstellen? ansonsten muss ich doch jeden file einzeln oeffnen, oder?

Nein, beim klicken auf "Alle ändern..." werden alle Dateien des gleichen Typs auf VLC umgestellt. Dies muss jedoch für jeden Dateityp einzeln gemacht werden. Die Icons ändern sich unter Umständen nicht sofort, sondern erst nach einem erneuten Anmelden.

No, by clicking "Change all...", all files of the same type will be switched to VLC. Anyway, this needs to be done for every filetype you want to associate with VLC. The icons may not change immediatelly, but after logging out and in again.
