I can't get 64 bit nightlies' to install

Postby ndjamena » 09 Jan 2014 01:14

I'm trying to install any of the 64 bit VLC nightlies but aren't having any luck. The .exe's ask for elevation despite me running them as administrator, the msi's complain that a program needed to install isn't running and I downloaded a 7-zip and copied the files into the VLC directory but all I got was a command line interface. What am I missing?

OK, thank you, I figured out that I had both the 64 and 32 bit versions of VLC installed. If I uninstalled both of them the MSIs installed properly. I wrote tags into an MKV and VLC won't play it, I read that the problem has been fixed in a newer version, should I just remove all the tags or is there a newer version somewhere with the GUI working?

System Error

even 32 bit build fails :!:

Code: Select all

The program can't start because libwinpthread-1.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

OK then, so proper tags in MKVs are a no go.
