Drawer request

Postby jix » 20 Aug 2005 00:18

Would it be possible to add a moving window in a skin. I mean when you click the "show playlist" button, the window would slide instead of appearing suddenly. It would look like a drawer.

I think vlc is not winamp, and not trying to be.. ;)

but you can pretty much do what you are talking about with vlc.. :D

Also, keep in mind the Skins2 interface is constantly being worked on and sometime within the near future there will be various additional features.

See here for a sample example of the functionality:

i don't think that you can currently do the drawer thing cleanly (your just cloning the layout ... which isn't really easy on the skiner if he wants to have 3 drawers which would nead like 6 layouts !)

the idea was to have some extra panel that could slide from under part of the layout.

hehe..

yes, I was just having fun..

but at least "for now", if you were very careful about the extra size of the panel and conscious of the doubled resource usage, you could pull it off with a decent case.

I would not think it would be a good idea for an extra Playlist panel, but for example a very small rectangular panel coming out with merely a single strip of small buttons could work out nicely.. not 2 or 3 extra panels though.. hehe :)

but the skins2 developement continues!!!
