upgrades on Mavricks hang on "Installing update"

In the update to 2.0.9 and to 2.1.1 the screen "installing update", after clicking the install and relaunch, hangs.

The install apparently happens.

A mouse click elswhere on the screen dismisses the hung screen, and the update seems to be successful

Tested on a MacBook Air and a MacBook Pro running Mavricks

I saw the same behavior going from 2.1 to 2.1.1 on Retina MacBook Pro.
