No Menus/GUI Whatsoever

Postby ShenziSixaxis » 19 Sep 2013 07:29

So, VLC Player, both the current 2.0.8 and last version had this problem with me. Anything I manage to play in the program has absolutely no window and just a process in the background, or a Direct 3D output window with no controls except a few keyboard shortcuts.

Resetting preferences and cache does not work. Reinstalling does not work. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not work. The " "C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" -Iskins " thing does not work (it tries to launch and freezes). 'VLC media player skinned' from the start menu does not work (because it is the same as the previous thing). Running as administrator and/or compatibility mode does nothing.

So? :?

Running Win 7 Professional.

Why do you install, uninstall, re-install..... Windows was never build (and never will) to run installed app properly. Just use the portable VLC.
