Only Records for 3 Seconds

I'm trying to clip a video file to be around 5 seconds long. When I try recording, all seems well. No errors pop up or anything, but when I go to look at the saved file of the clip, it only recorded 3 seconds. The first two seconds of the clip didn't get recorded.
The video file I'm trying to clip from is already only 8 seconds long, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Is there a setting that I need to change to get it to record for a longer period of time?
