VLC Linux still using older version of Live555?

Postby mykillk » 29 Aug 2013 22:42

I've noticed that even the newest nightly builds of Linux VLC still use the May 2012 build of Live555 whereas for some time now the Windows version has upgraded to the December 2012 build of Live555. In the interest of the best compatibility, it would be nice to see the same Live555 build on both platforms.

There is no "Linux VLC" nightly build. Nightly builds depend on the distribution, and use whatever live555 the distribution has.

I'm sorry, what I meant to say was the nightly builds found on Ubuntu Videolan PPA:

https://launchpad.net/~videolan/+archive/master-daily

On a related note, all of the builds have been failing for over a week now. Is there any estimate when successful nightly builds might resume?
