I may have a very specific use case but still seems to be a major issue to me. VLC on desktop opens m3u files just fine... VLC on iOS not so much... it doesn't give any errors just simply goes back to the media library screen. Playlist playback is very important to me as that's how I currently access my TVheadend streams... Thanks!

Regrettably, this is expected as VLC for iOS does not support playlists at this point. We had to draw a line somewhere (otherwise we'd never release… 
) so this is scheduled for the future.
As VLC for Android will receive playlist support shortly, we should do something similar for iOS, too
