Problem detecting upnp server XBMC on Pi

Postby Fock » 19 Jun 2013 22:49

Hello everyone,

I've installed raspbmc on my RPi to create a media center. It works great, but now I want to be able to see my movies on my android phone, my TV and on my PC. upnp is enabled, And with WMP I can go through the file tree and watch movies, but not all the codecs needed are installed (And I don't want to install them). So i'd like to watch them with VLC but it only shows me "XBMCPi", the name of my server, but absolutely no files (looks like it considers XBMCPi as a media file).

My Galaxy S3 had the same problem with the default video app, I had a "XBMCPi" device shown, and no file in it, but installing mediahouse solved the problem. It also works great with the TV.

So, a configuration is missing or VLC has trouble dealing with upnp ?

The UPnP plugin in VLC is underdevelopped, needs a volunteer to improve and maintain it.
