Occasional noise in audio file playback

Postby sarukichi » 24 Apr 2013 03:45

Looking through some very old threads and seeing reports of noise in audio on playback, were these issues ever resolved?
I'm getting occasional static-type crackle simply playing back audio files, sometimes stopping/starting or restarting VLC will fix it but it seems fairly random. I think it's more frequent playing .flac files but not 100%, that could just be that I play a lot of flacs!
I've checked all bitrates, levels, I/O mixer app settings etc and there is nothing set to over 100% or mis-matched sample rates etc., esp. as the problem is intermittent it would seem to suggest some kind of playback problem. Playback in other apps is fine.

Using Metric Halo ULN2 interface, Macbook Pro dual 2.6 2008, OSX 10.6.8

I think this is a (already fixed) regression in VLC 2.0.6. Could you check a 2.0.7 Nightly Build of VLC to verify?
