Only recording as .asf NOT .wmv

Hello,

For some reason (maybe due the latest upgrade) its only recording my .tp converted to .wmv files as .asf and not .wmv like it used to do.

Any ideas?? I cant afford $60 for a new asf converter.

(When I record off a dvd its perfect and saves as an .mpg)_

so... nobody knows????? All i can do is to convert my .tp to .mpeg then play the mpeg in vlc, then record and i get an mpeg. but i really to get the wmvs like VLC used to to.

Just rename the .asf extension to .wmv

Please... WHERE do I change it??
I'm in the folder on my drive but i can only change the NAME of the files, NOT the SUFFIX??

I would still like to know why it has suddenly changed to record the files as asfs when its always recorded as wmv???

Most likely, the suffix isn't showing because your window's explorer has an option chosen to hide known file extensions. You can un-click that choice and see all extensions added to each file name.

An optional way may be used by right clicking the file and choosing "properties". Change the name on the 'general' tab and see if that does it.

Oh i can see the suffixes.. but cant change them.
Properties>General also ONLY changes the file name title too NOT the suffix.
