Cannot load directory

Hello, am fairly new on using vlc player and media players in general and it has been awesome to use vlc player, but ran into a problem.

My problem is that sometimes when I save playlist to file as an xspf, I cannot reopen it as it will just make my vlc player not work as it is frozen. There were times when I was able to open another playlist I saved, but I do not know why it stopped working. Also maybe related to my problem, but I cannot even open folders through the menu: Media>Open file/folder/etc... but am still able to play things if I drag files onto the playlist of vlc player window.

Would gladly appreciate a fix for my problem; Thanks in advanced!

Edit: forgot to mention that my vlc player version is 2.0.2

Sorry, I fixed my problem just by updating to 2.0.5 close thread.
