Then disable it.I don't care what people celebrate in their own personal lives; I just don't want it in mine.
How? I just updated to the latest version (2.x) but it's still there. Then disable it.I don't care what people celebrate in their own personal lives; I just don't want it in mine.
It explains exactly how to disable it...I DID search the forum, mais, NON!... the link provided above, in which YOU replied, didn't describe jack.
Yep, and most of them love it: https://twitter.com/search?q=vlc+hatBut SINCE you asked me to, IF you insist:
As respectfully as I can muster, how about you sit your pompous, arrogant, "hoity-toity", aristocratic french backside down and try LISTENING to your users for a change?
If you don't like VLC, please don't use it. And stop bothering us.Where the hell did you learn software engineering or usability testing?
And you got a ban from this forum.Unrelated, to all: Would someone please remind me again that we invaded Normandy in 1945 because of Hitler, not to free the French?
Well, i hope you can take some time and think. Since the aim of this project is global, not the entire globe have snow in December and celebrate this week as holiday. It's kinda awkward when the programer treat it as global holiday. It seriously awkward when you start vlc player to your parent and this holiday icon appear in the vlc blank screen, what we have to say to our parents? That this software is clever, it's recognize the day when some people in the world celebrate this week as holiday (where is the new year hat?). It just happen, and from their point of view, why I installing this software to celebrate other people holiday. Also, to the people I discovered were complaining about this icon, seriously??. I cannot believe anyone would tie Santa to a religion which it isn't even associated with and then get angry and want it removed. You people shouldn't have the right to even use VLC player. To those people I have one message; grow the hell up!
We do what we can with the resources we have. If you don't like it, you are free not to use our project. For a chairman of an open source project, surely you have no PR skill, nor calm and patient attitude. I hope you react differently to other technical critics and suggestion regarding VLCplayer. For three years or more (the internet record it) your attitude regarding this Santa hat feature doesn't change at all. Can you at least add some one else in your team that can separated personal feeling to deal with any user feedback, no matter how rude of it?
There is already an option to disable it... What the hell are you speaking about? So please stop and think, the difference of culture is far from only religion. As simple as it is, not all people celebrate it. It's suppose to be rain season in my country, but due to global warming, its very hot and clear blue sky. So the icon, a hat that suitable to warming the head, is kinda out of touch. Many people just request a option to disable it, they don't need to be tell to grown up, especially not in the hell.
Thanks for the support.Thank-you for all the hard work you do to create this player, it works great for what I use it for.
It's awfully cute, but of course, many of us do not celebrate Christmas. How do I disable it?
I wish I could "like" your commentIt's awfully cute, but of course, many of us do not celebrate Christmas. How do I disable it?
I'll bet you don't "celebrate" road construction. Do you want to disable the road cone icon too?
