new user here - apologize in advance if this is wrong venue for my inquiry. Simply trying to play .(dot_MOV ) format videos which are stored on my Galaxy SII external SD card. I've downloaded VLC DIRECT PRO FREE to device.
Note - I have no need / desire to configure / communicate with windows folders on a PC or network. When I tap (select) a MOV file from the device's sd card movie folder, VLC DIRECT launches as expected (no native APPS on my device which support MOV playback), but does not automatically start playing the video (as would be the case with my old XP PC BASED vlc player): The APP seems to keep prompting to connect: When I click on the 'orange Cone' VLC LOGO - I receive message "no media queued in the playlist -,,,,select by long-clicking files from the 3rd tab; The 3rd Tab appears to be a Monitor image - when I select that I get "No files found on your pc,,,,". - If I attempt to run the connection wizzard (even though I have no need for the service) - i get "VLC Not Found on Your Network" (again - I do not wish to connect to my PC - simply only to play MOV files stored directly on my device).
Are there settings I may adjust to disable the APP from searching for a computer connection and only look for loacal (device) files/folders, or at least a method to load a device-resident file directly to the VLC apps' player?
(again, tapping/selecting a file from the folder launches VLC DIRECT, but doesn't appear to load the file for playing)? Is there an alternate / preferable APP I might have used for my limited purposes. Thanks for any feedback
