For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

Mobotix mxg startup delay

Postby jorge.ab » 25 Sep 2012 10:33

Hi,

I'm trying to use VLC v2.0.1 to playback some Mobotix cameras directly from the URL and, though it finally starts the playback, it takes more than 2 minutes to start. I've two different cameras to test, one with the latest firmware and both have the same behaviour. I've tried to play with network caching and such with no success, is there anything we can do to reduce the delay?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Jorge

Hi Jorge,

I ran into the same problem. Have you found a solution yet? I think it has something to do with ffmpeg, because when I open the stream in ffmpeg, there is also a delay.

Hi,

Yes. Using FFmpeg, set analyze duration to 0 using -analyzeduration 0.
Haven't found yet the way to pass the parameter using VLC like format with ffmpeg-format (ffmpeg-analyzeduration won't work)

Regards,

Jorge
