GUI for VLC daemon

Postby billx » 15 Sep 2012 12:19

Hi,

I am starting the VLC daemon during the boot of my computer and I control it with my phone or my computer.
When I use my computer, I would prefer to use the classic GUI of VLC rather than the http interface (This http interface is very basic :( ).

I would like to connect this GUI to this daemon (I don't want to stop the current playlist).
Any idea :) ?

PS : I am running on linux and I don't always start the window manager (vlc is launched as a service, independent of my graphical interface, except that it can display videos on it ). So the solution of starting the GUI when my computer starts is not suitable.

So far you cannot. You can do the opposite, but not this configuration. You could tweak the code though.
