All,
I have struggled with this problem for some time and have yet to find a cure... I am sending an Mms stream to Windows MediaElement. This works great when an audio es is included in the video stream. When it is video only however MediaElement will not display the video. This has been perplexing as
1) The stream plays in VLC
2) The stream plays in Media Player
3) I have used a tool called "ASF Viewer" (produced by Microsoft) that shows me the flags in my .asf container header as well as data packets in the video - all flags appear correctly set.
When I use the stop function in the code the most recent frame is displayed, and occasionally some sort of timeout is hit and the video begins to play, though about a minute and a half behind, so I know MediaElement is receiving and buffering the video. There just seems to be some problem with a flag or something like that stopping MediaElement from displaying the video. If any one has any idea what the problem might be please let me know!
Finally, back to Asf Viewer - this tool is basically freeware from Microsoft, though it is not particularly adverstised. Extremely useful however if you are having to work with .asf/wmv/VC11 files.
Thx,
SteveO
