Parametric EQ inside VLC

I did some search on this forum, but couldn't find anything about the Parametric EQ option inside the VLC advanced options, basically someone just mentions it, and that they had problems making the Para-EQ to work.

Well...i can't get it to work either, i made some pretty obvious changes in the Para-EQ settings in VLC and it didn't give any result, even when the Graphic EQ was on in the Effects and Filters option, so pleaseee VLC people HELP ME!!!

To give some background to my problem, I was actually looking for some way to apply few notches in the higher frequency range, in VLC, beacuse I was trying to flatten my headphones which had peaks in round 4,7,8 kHz range, and the Graphic EQ just didn't cut it, so my other question is is there some third-party Parametric EQ available to use with the VLC?

I have a strong interest in the parametric equalizer just like you. Preferences of VLC consider the parametric equalizer, but I can't see it while a video is playing, I can see the graphic equalizer only.
Where is the parametric equalizer? Have you found it? Can you see it while a video is playing?

There is no UI for it.

There is no GUI for it, yes, but under Preferences->Audio->Filters (You have to select "Show ALL settings" on the bottom of the preferences window) there is a Parametric EQ option, with some basic options, and you have to input data manually, by numbers, the only problem is, that I don't know if it is turned on or off, i tried to change some of the Para-EQ settings so that they would give some obvious audio result (exmpl. low freq gain to -20) and when i closed the preferences it didn't made a change in the sound at all, not even while I was changing the settings

Maybe this Para-EQ option is for future implementation only? Maybe they put it there but didn't write a code to make it work?

Did you activate the filter in the audio filter list?

Thanks Jean Baptiste, I'm such an idiot, I activated Para-EQ with a tick in the filters list and now it works perfectly
