"Streaming/ Transcoding failed" to an Android phone

Postby HelenCr » 07 Aug 2012 03:06

I have installed VLC 2.0.2 on a PC running Windows XP SP 3. I have a Samsung Galaxy SII Android smart phone (running Android 2.3.5).
I have installed the "VLC Direct Pro Free" application, in order to stream video from the PC to the Android phone.
Going through the setup, the Wi-Fi connection works fine; but when trying to play a movie on the Android phone, it plays no sound, and on the PC, a window pops up saying:
"Streaming/ Transcoding failed:
VLC could not open the encoder."

Note that the movie still plays fine, but: there is no sound.

What to do?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

"VLC Direct Pro Free" has nothing to do with VideoLAN. "VLC Direct Pro Free" is neither VideoLAN made nor VideoLAN approved software. Please do not make support requests regarding "VLC Direct Pro Free" on VideoLAN support channels.

The official VLC for Android app can be found here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... betav7neon

Nightly builds of the official VLC for Android app can be found here: http://nightlies.videolan.org/

Thank you very much in advance.
