Visualisation developemnt

Hello, I wish to adapt my visualisation (Animator) for VLC Media Player.
Can you please, direct me to some SDK, documenation or whatever else, that will help me to figure out, how I can do that?

I guess that the best way to get started is to take one of the existing visualisations and adapt the code. these can be fond in the sources in directory : modules/visualization/
