audio streaming delay

Hi all
I want to use VLC for capturing audio from microphone and stream it in as less delay as possible. I almost tested all of transcodings also I reduced caching in sender and the receiver to 51 ms; But still I see about 1 sec delay. What options I have to use in command line to have less delay and maximum quality? I use VLC GUI to do this however it is better to do this in command line; but still I couldn't access microphone from VLC command line.
