How to make VLC NOT be default for avi files???

Postby ernietamminga » 14 Jun 2012 05:20

I do a lot of videography. My camera produces AVI files on a Compact Flash Card.
I regularly copy those files to my computer to edit in my video-editing software.
Now that I've installed VLC, VLC comes up whenever I plug in a Compact Flash Card with AVI files on it.
I DON'T want VLC to be my default for AVI files.
In Preferences/Set up associations, AVI is not listed as one of the filetypes that I can configure.
(The list jumps from .au to .b4s.)

How can I get VLC to stop coming up when I insert a CF Card???

Reinstall VLC and make sure to unselect AVI files, then associate AVI files to the app of your choice.
