What is Open Source Conversion Software?

What is Open Source Conversion Software?

Upon registering, I found the following announcement by the Administrator in my User Control Panel, and I see a copy of it prominently announced on this forum. Since this apparently such a taboo topic, I'd like to know what it is, so I don't inadvertently stumble upon it.

Posts about non open-source conversion software

Posting about conversion software is now completly forbidden.

The only exceptions are open source software as FFmpeg, x264 or VLC.

Any post about that will be deleted, the account banned and the username deleted.

Which part of "Posting about non open-source conversion software is now completly forbidden" don't you understand ? Seriously ?
If you want to talk about any conversion software then first check that its source is available. As simple as that.

However keep in mind these are the VideoLAN forums, not a conversion softwares forum.
