video on demand - very strange statistics

Postby 4naughtydog4 » 18 Apr 2012 09:15

Hello everybody

I have used the video on demand service of VLC to stream and transcpde a movie to several clients (all of these clients request the same movie).
In the testsituation I have a raising number of clients. As the number of clients rise, the number of the displayed frames in a single VLC client also rises.
The other clients don't proces the video and audio stream because call the video on demand using the no-audio and no-video parameters, ignoring the streams
and thus displaying no frames. So the displayed frames value can't be a total for al the clients.

This is not only the case for the displayed frames value, this also occurs with the number of audio blocks decoded.

Can anyone explain how VLC could determine that there are more displayed frames while this is clearly (?) not the case?

Thank you for your help
