Cannot run VLC 2.01 from command line

[whiterainbow]

When I try to run vlc from the command line I get a 'segmentation fault' and it immediately crashes. The command line I'm using is /Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/VLC. Here's the crash report.

I think the issue may be that VLC automatically downloaded the 64 bit version and I am on 32 bit intel mac. Is that what this means? Code Type: X86-64 (Native). If so, that would be a bug in the updater.

I just verified the updater. It downloads the 32bit build if you installed the 32bit build. The 64bit-only version is distributed to users who installed it.

But anyway, installing a 64bit-only build on a 32bit Intel Mac (CoreDuo?) could lead to the mentioned result.

I installed manually with the 32 bit version and it fixed the problem. So the issue is definitely with the updater, as I did not install this manually the first time. My OS is OS X 10.5 if that makes a difference.
