I have a 5530 Xpress Music and it has amazing sound. So I'd love to use VLC on it. But please hold off on going the Qt route if you can because many of the phones just aren't there yet (like mine.) The apps available for music and video right now are either lousy or aren't free. Even the paid ones leave much to be desired.

I think VLC is perfect for the Symbian consumer because many are the same people. We like open source freedom with limitless options and don't care much for useless fluff. I had no idea how good the hardware is on my phone until I tinkered around and installed some custom firmware. Like many commercial PC's, when Nokia phones are not bogged down by bloatware and bad default settings they come alive. VLC and Symbian are perfect for each other.

I have N95 8gb and i think that it would be good make VLC for it,
it has GPU (OpenGLES) , Dual CPU and 128 MB ram.
a lot of people would appreciate it !

Althought it wouldn't be just simply a "feature request" but rather whole a new release.

I've been working on streaming TV-image over internet, and while it works on PC I've been unable to find any mobile applications for S60 able to receive avi streams. Coreplayer is the only exception, but it takes like 2-3 minutes to start the video even when packed with a very low bitrate.

Everything is there - mobile broadband, smartphones, digital TV - only the software is missing.

Has anyone managed to compile the SIS file? I've tried to create SIS file from the PKG with SIScreator, but I get error.
It would be nice of someone who can uploads the VLC sis somewere
