Could it be from a codec then ??
VLC cannot use external codecs. So codec packs don't matter with VLC.

I already posted in pastebin because it was too long, the link should be a few posts back.

@Lotesdelere: So what are your settings for the player then maybe i have something thats not in common with yours and i can eliminate the problem that way.

Edit: The User Joakim stated a similar problem with identifieing that it might be the vlc 1.1.11 that is having the problem i'm reinstalling with version 1.1.9 because he states that there it is working fine., i edit again when i'm ready with this.

Edit 2: Ok reinstalled v1.1.9 but no improvement its the same the a s s subtitles are not displayed.

main debug: spu is disabled, not selecting ES 0x2
Reset the preferences, then exit VLC and try again.

I have absolutely no idea how, but its working again, reset the preferences in v1.1.9 and then updated to v1.1.11.

What was the problem Lotesdelere can you explain ?
