TO VLC TEAM NEW 2.1.0 WONT LET ME PLAY 5.1 OR STERO WHY ???

one of the audio fixes:
"Correct support for multi-channel layouts in all formats: 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1"

and I installed 2.1.2 and same thing there, there is no way to choose 5.1 when playing video with 5.1

Hey guys i have the same problem with all the latest version which comes after vlc 2.0.8
but i finally got the solution to this. just do the following steps : -

1. First go to Preference under tools tab or Press Ctrl+P to bring up preferences.
2. At the bottom of the right-hand navigation select the All radio-button under the Show settings area (bottom left of the interface).
3. Now expand the Audio tree, select/expand Out Modules and select DirectX.
4. Select your "Output device" and "Speaker configuration" from the drop down menus.
5. Restart VLC.

Hope this will help u all.
For creators i would say make this option same as in Vlc 2.0.8 version so even the beginners to do it easly
without losing or tempering any of the vlc settings. Again make the stereo mode on by default like in older versions eg vlc 2.0.8.
