I have the Hauppauge PVR250 card running on Windows XP Home SP2

Using the newest version results in choppy audio and very choppy video.

I'm able to get things to work perfectly using version 0.7.2 and a bizarre technique a very helpful "guest".
On the servers side you need to have Windows Media Encoder. I am using version 9.

Phase 1
Open WinTV2000 and select which channel you want to watch

Phase 2
1. Open Windows Media Encoder (WME)
2. Select Broadcast a live event and press OK
3. Select your PVR250 card in the Video field.
4. Select Configure
5. Select Video Properties
6. Click OK to close that window
7. Click OK again to close that window
8. Exit out of WME

Phase 3
Open VLC
1. Select File/Streaming Wizard
2. Select 1. Open
3. On the line with "Video Device Name, click on Refresh list.
4. Select your Hauppuage Card
5. Select OK
6. Select how you want to stream ( I have been using UDP )
7. Click Start

Phase 4
On your client just open the stream.

When mucking around I occasionally lose the sound and I need to start from Phase 2.

I actually prefer the steps in version 0.7.2 to the ones in 0.8.1, but then since it doesn't work in 0.8.1, it doesn't matter.

Wishes:
1. Sure would be nice to not have to go through phases 1 & 2.
2. Sure would be nice to be able to change the channel in VLC

Questions:
I would like to stream to Windows Media Player, anyone know how?
