ratDVD (yes i searched it)

Postby AshenSugar » 07 Jan 2006 05:30

b4 anybody says anything about my posting this YES i did search and i didnt find any current topics about supporting this.

I like rat for shrinking my dvd files down for use on my htpc but i HATE WMP(9/10), it sucks, My favorite player is VLC, hence im here checking if vlc will support ratDVD format.

I have also been asked by a few mac users I know to mention that they would like to see support for rat as well since they prefer to use their macs to pc's (they all have pc's but....meh well they are mac freaks)

I like that rat can keep all the extra content yet still make the file smaller/easyer to send over the network. :)

thanks for any replys/answers you can give me :D

rat DVD

I was told here today that vlc did support this. I have never tried it and never heard of it before today. Best way of confirming this is by trying it!
Also all common formats use common extensions. If the extension is listed it is supported. In the discussion today I got the impression that the format was still MP(E)G and it retained all the original features. If this is true the extension would probably still be ifo and vob. But like I said I have no real experience here and thought about doing a bit of research as it did sound interesting.

VLC does not support ratDVD, nor will it any time soon. It is only partly open source, and only really compatible with Directshow Media players (WMP, BSplayer etc)
Don't use PMs for support questions.
