Ability to save snapshots as thumbnails [PLEASE, Please|]

Hi, everyone at VLC I am a mega fan of this program and use it all the time as I refuse to install codecs, thank all crators and developers for the creation of this fine app

My request is is that there ae programs out there and small programs such as the nice ImageGrabber II which can create a thumbnail image from a video

like this one I found for example (only found on the internet as example)

It would be so nice if alongsie 'snapshot', a devloper can write in the programs right click a 'thumbnail snapshot' in where vlc without needing for the file to be played wil save a thumbnail image of the entire video.

With these thumbnail programs you need all these codecs installed to decode the files, I hate that

A small dialog box can pop up in where you specify the thumbnail, like this image below I made,

Sadly I am a noob at windows comand prompts (cmd), I just feel it would be better to do a thumbnail from within the program, this should be a small and nifty feature to include in the next cersion of VLC

Until this happens, if it happens, why not use an external program to resize the images to thumbnail size. You could try my favorite: FastStone Image Viewer It's FREE and well equipped.

I create a tool : Contact Sheet From Video (planche contact à partir d'une vidéo)

Final image dimensions or number of thumbnails are configurable.

I use the QuickTime for java API for V1.x version but i have another solution with Java Videolan.
No public version because i have trouble to set position in the video file.
When java Videolan will be more stable, i 'll publish a version.
