Request: Video-Caching/Buffer for some seconds

Postby TURBO » 16 Feb 2004 22:41

Hello!

I'm using VLC since 0.6 and I'm very confident!

The only thing I'm missing is something like a cache/buffer.

My server is connected to my client via WLAN (54Mbit) and sometimes the connection drops for a second. This causes fps-losses so the movie feeling is not that good. :-)

A nice option will be to tell VLC how long the video should be cached/buffered to the future so this fps-loss can be pevented. Winamp has this usefull option for mp3s. I could't find it in VLC and hope to find it soon! :-)

Thank you!

Preferences->Modules->access->type of access

Check the advanced options checkbox
you can change the buffer size for files/ftp/http/mms etc.
Don't use PMs for support questions.
