Has anyone had luck with Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle?

Postby zimon » 28 Sep 2011 20:22

I searched a bit around here and didn't notice anyone trying or using BlackMagic Intensity Shuttle, the USB3-version of Intensity HDMI/RGB-capture card with VLC.

It doesn't currently work in Linux at all, because I guess Linux was missing isochronous transfer of USB3 until "recently" (2.6.38). See http://article.gmane.org/gmane.linux.usb.general/52484

But how about in Windows 7 with VLC? Has anyone got it working?

I am planning to buy a Intensity device, but would rather buy USB3-version although currently it won't work in Linux, which I mainly use.
I would like to stream 720p HD video out of 100 Mbit LAN with multicast. MPEG2-encoding in real time should be possible with i5-2500?

Also, found by searching didn't read many really successful stories about using even BlackMagic devices (PCIE) with VLC. Is there some patches to VLC which will make it work better with Intensity in Windows7 (or in Linux)?
