I installed the newest VLC-Version on both: the SERVER (WinXPpro, with 100 MBit LAN-Card, Router, Cable) and the CLIENT, a Notebook (Windows Vista Ultimate), connected to the LAN via cable. To the server, there is connected a USB/DVB-T - TV-Stick (the TV-signal comes in via DVB-T-antenna), which works fine to watch TV right there on the "server" (it's not an internet-server though, I name it "server" only for video-stream-purposes).
So I thought, it would be great to even watch TV on the LAN-connected notebook. Searching for video-stream-software I found VLC. But now, trying to realize "my vision", I read, that for DVB-T I have to install specific drivers - and then, on that drivers-download-page, that those drivers (or the whole DVB-T-Streaming, this topic was not specificated) only work with Linux...

Is that true? Will I not be able to realize "my vision" of a DVB-T-Streaming between Windows-PCs using the VLC-software?
If it is possible, please give me some hints on how to configurate the VLC-software:
- which protocol should I use?
- how should I put the adress into the adress-line? http://servername or just //servername?
- is it sufficient, to type the adress of the server on the client or do I have to enter the adresses mutually?
- do I have to access the USB-DVB-T-TV-stick connected to the server via the client?
- is it obligate to be able to see the DVB-T-device in the server's-hardware-manager?
- is it obligate to be able to see the DVB-T-device in the VLC-software on the client?
- which frecuency should I select and where - on the server or the client - or on both?
A short step-by-step guide would be great!
Kindest regards,
