Switched to VLC 1.0 recently. I have some hd mkv files that contain built-in subtitles. In VLC 0.86i these files play with subtitles disabled by default. It's still possible to select the subs manually tho. So this is good.
However, in VLC 1.0 the first subtitle track is now enabled by default. This means that every time I run a video I have to right click, go to Video -> Subtitles Track and set it to Disabled. Very annoying if you have to do this with 99,9% of the videos you're watching. Is there a way to set it so that the subtitle track is disabled by default?
Note : I already went to the Preferences and unchecked the "Enable sub-pictures" box, but this completely disables all subtitles. So they won't show even if I manually select them. I do want to keep the subs available, just not enabled by default. Anyone else run into this issue?
