flv-Videos stop when I use the slide control.

I have the following Problem:

When playing a flv-Video, it stops when I use the slide control. This doesn't happen with other videofiles.

I have the newest version of the VLC-mediaplayer (0.8.6d) and the newest WIN XP with all updates. It also happened with version 0.8.6a.

Does anybody know a solution?

Thanks for help.

I too am experiencing this issue. I downloaded an FLV file from a website (tried many different sites/FLVs too...all do this) - when I use the seek bar, the video immediately closes...so the only way to really "seek" is to use the "Play Faster" and then slow it down when I get to the point I intended to seek to :)

On a side-note...

While registering and signing here, I had the video playing in "play faster" mode, and NOW I am able to seek - sorta....I can seek to any location that VLC has already "played" - but if I seek any further (to an area that hasnt been played) - the video closes.

Any ideas? :) I'm using 0.8.6d on Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit on a "Standard"/normal user account.

Have you tried nightly builds?

no i have not, but I could - if they don't require any compiling or anything :) Where can they be downloaded from?

Thanks for the quick reply btw ;)

Edit: something I just thought of....I dont know if it would matter or not, but I am using "Windows Classic" Themes/Colors (and not Aero or whatever) in Vista Home Basic 32bit. I dont know if that would matter or not though...

Here are the nightlies: http://nightlies.videolan.org/

I don't believe that the skin you are using is going to effect the playback of flv files but VLC has had some known issues in handling this format.

Sorry for not updating you all, glad to hear that this issue has been resolved. And yea, I too noticed it "fixed" in one of the nightlies I tried ;)
