Heavy Problem: VLc VLC does not save any settings

I got a heavy problem with VLC 8.0.2 and also with the new beta:

It doesnt matter if i change the settings of the player, The changes will not be made and not be saved.
The FAQ says there will be a cfg file created in the "Documents and Settings". There are no VLC config files on my hgarddisc stored at all.

Please help me

The actual file is in \Documents and Settings\[your username]\Application Data\vlc, which is hidden. As for saving, make sure you click 'Save' on the options dialog. OK applies them without saving, while Save applies and saves them.
