VLC to remember last point of played dvd

Is it possible for VLC to know the last point of a dvd that was played.

For example if i am watching a dvd but have to stop, can vlc remember where I was?

Wondering whether this issue has been resolved. I'm running 3.0.0 and can't get it to resume from the last point played.
