Sorry to hear that VLC for win x64 isn'tready.
Meanwhile Vista x64 users can use a mediaplayer (no not windows media player!) that uses 4 example FFDshow64.
You know media player classic? They got a x64 version too!
get MPC HC x64 here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... _id=245172(2008/11/29 new version!)
get FFDShow64 here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... _id=569930(click: svn builds by clsid, then click: 64bit builds )
First install FFDshow64 in program files (no not in the program files (x86) ), then configure it(no disabled codecs) select Libavcodec, if their is a 3th option, then select the 3th one. After that reboot your windows thing(get a Linux 64bit distro if you want stability and no reboot and true VLC-64bit and Flash 64bit
).
After reboot and FFDshow64 installed, install MedisaPlayerClassic Homecinema 64bit (no not in the program files (x86) ).
If VLC 64bit for windows is their, then remove above..(well not FFDshow64., that's incredible handy, the only codec software you need on windows).
Then we got at least a x64 mediaplayer with enough codec support. We can use this till we got VLC x64.
