I have typed
"./configure" under the vlc 0.8.2 folder.

but it gives "Missing header file ffmpeg\avcodec.h"

I did not installed any libraries defined in videolan documents.

Postby lala » 20 Oct 2005 16:26

hi,

Moreover When I want to install precompiled libraries for my madrake linux from Easy urpmi, it always says "retrieving failed: connection failed".

Can anybody tell me what to do to overcome this problem also.

I just met the same problem. But how can I get ffmpeg libraries installed?
I downloaded ffmpeg-0.4.8, make and install it. But only ffmpeg and ffserver were installed.
I copied avcodec.h and libavcodec.a to mmpeg/, however the same error still exit.
What can I do?

Sorry, I just made a mistake.

Not copied avcodec.h and libavcodec.a to mmpeg/,

but to "vlc-0.8.2/modules/codec/ffmpeg".

Can anybody help me?

hi Saravanan

I have installed ffmpeg as you stated from other replays.

I have typed ./configure --enable-shared-pp --enable-shared --enable-pp --enable -gpl

as you stated/

But it gives --The Postprocessing code is under GPL and --enable-gpl is not specified--

So I configured by ./configure

And When I want to ./configure vlc it gives --configure: error: Missing header file postproc/postprocess.h.
--

What is the problem this time.
I am using Madrake Linux.

Best Regards//

./configure --enable-shared-pp --enable-shared --enable-pp --enable-gpl

without the space between the enable and -gpl :D

easily done but pay more attention
