switching dvb-c channel takes ages (slow)

Hi there,

I have a Terratec Cinergy HTC USB Stick. DVB-C works on the whole but switching channels takes not less than 12 seconds (regardless HD or SD source).
I have checked the signal/noise strength but its close to ideal. On the same hardware setup I've seen XBMC/Tvheadend switching in just about one second so I guess there's something wrong or (please confirm) this is actual behavior of vlc performance.

I've noticed that vlc is waitung most of the time at these positions in the log:

I dont know, I just use the posted channels.conf generated by w_scan to start vlc. It has some values at the end of each channel. I will investigate further...

Ok now I am total clueless on how to specify a PID and what of my channels.conf values represents the PID. Does someone know the correct vlc syntax for specifying a PID? I ask because I can not even set a PID in the GUI of VLC under digital tv extended options menu.

Ok, I now can specify the program by :

vlc dvb-c:// :dvb-frequency=450000000 :dvb-srate=6900000 :dvb-modulation=256QAM :program=11110
but it still needs 12 seconds to show up.

Ok Ive just noticed the error

[0x7f8f2cc01728] dvb access error: unknown option (inversion:0:srate=6900000:fec=0:modulation=256QAM)
So VLC gets a wrong input from the channels.conf? Is there somewhere a VLC-specific specification on how a channels.conf has to be formatted? I found a lot of vdr/mplayer/ZAP/v1,v2,v3... channel.confs but none for VLC :(

made some progress by adding ":dvb-budget-mode" to commandline. In this case VLC starts the program immediately to the given program id.

vlc dvb-c://frequency=450000000:modulation=256QAM:srate=6900000 :dvb-budget-mode :program=28007
But how to tell VLC to always use dvb-budget-mode especially from a channels.conf :?

Finally problem solved by activating Options->All->Input/Codecs->Access-Module->DTV->No Demultiplexing.
My channels.conf was/is absolutly ok. Now VLC switches channels in just one second 8)

I must correct myself. Changing "No Demultiplexing" did not the trick but "Spectrum Inversion" set to ON did. No Demultiplexing only results in bigger record files because it seems to record the whole transponder with multiple programs in one file.

Dumping the whole transponder is the whole point of the budget mode option. And your playlist file says "inversion auto" which most device drivers implement as first off, then on if off fails. So I think there are no bugs.

I still have exact the same problem like you. Channel switching (DVB-C KabelBW) takes ages.

I tried to enable Spectrum Inversion, but it did not help.

I don´t fully get it, how did you solve it in the end?

My channels.conf has settings like this:

Do I need to change the channels.conf syntax?
