So... is this working? I can't seem to find any options in the UI. (Windows, 1.1.7)

Cheers.

I see the new ProjectM Visualization in the latest windows VLC player. Where and How do we add the .MILK effects? As of now the only visualization ProjectM gives us is the works ProjectM rippling around colorful like. It seems we're so close to finally getting a good visualization but someone needs to let us know please!

I figured out a few things after a friend emailed me what he did.

I created a visualisation folder: (spelled with a s instead of a z?)
C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\visualisation

I copied all the .MILK files from the following WinAmp installation to the new folder above.
C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins\Milkdrop2\presets

When playing audio in VLC Player I picked ProjectM from visualizations.

It's working ! Next Question is how do I select next visualization or resolution options.
(I see no visualization controls/options like winamp has)

Crap, this is a bug. I'll fix the mispelling for VLC 1.1.9 and 1.2.0

Playing around a bit, I found a solution for windows:

1) Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC and create a new folder called visualizations

2) Download the latest version of ProjectM from here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/projectm/files/

3) Extract the .tar and find the folder called presets_milkdrop_200 ***You can use a different preset folder depending on the visualizations you want***

4) Copy presets_milkdrop_200 to your visualizations folder

5) In VLC go to advanced preferences > Audio > Visualizations > projectM and set the "projectM preset path" to C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\visualizations\presets_milkdrop_200

6) Save your preferences, then activate the visualizations by going to the audio menu > visualizations > and select projectM

VLC will now begin using random visualizations from the preset folder you specified. With some tweaking, you can probably change the scripts to adjust how long each visualization plays for, etc. Enjoy!

I got this to work, but I placed the files in the AppData folder so that the settings are easier to backup.

I have the same problem with this not being able to go full-screen. That sucks.

I managed to get it fullscreen by setting the visualization to "libprojectM effect" under preferences under audio (preferences set to simple not ALL), then play whatever, and right click anywhere and go to view then hit minimal interface, then the same thing but full screen interface, VOILA!

Ah crap, I also followed the instructions in a previous reply by pyr0man99, reposted below:

1) Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC and create a new folder called visualizations

2) Download the latest version of ProjectM from here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/projectm/files/

3) Extract the .tar and find the folder called presets_milkdrop_200 ***You can use a different preset folder depending on the visualizations you want*** (Beaver: also if you use winrar like me you can just extract the contents of that folder to your visualizations folder)

4) Copy presets_milkdrop_200 to your visualizations folder

5) In VLC go to advanced preferences > Audio > Visualizations > projectM and set the "projectM preset path" to C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\visualizations\presets_milkdrop_200 (Beaver: or whatever directory you created, I just extracted the files directly to the visualizations folder)

Is it possible to select a specific projectM preset now?
